Today is another interesting day for diverse reasons.
It's Blessing Of The Fishing Fleet Day. This is a tradition for decades here in the U.S. that had it's origins in Sicilian culture. This is a often celebrated over the whole weekend, culminating today. It for praising the fishing fleet and remembering those brave souls taken by the sea.
We also have today as Intergeneration Day and in 2009 the focus is on What Intergeneration Day Means to Libraries. The American Library Association (ALA) is working with the founders of Intergeneration Day to bring awareness of how our lives are all richer with diversity and that means ages too!
And last but not least (actually it's alphabetical) is Ten-Four Day. A day when all proud ham radio operators and CBers can salute one another with the signature affirmative in their own jargon!
So, thank a fisherman who is olders or younger than you and who loves their CB!
