October 6th

Mad Hatter Day is today in the U.S.!  I kid you not.  It all began in Boulder, CO in 1986. It was most likely chosen as such because of the illustration by John Tenniel in Alice's Adventures In Wonderland.  The Mad Hatter is wearing a hat which has a slip of paper attached stating "In this style 10/6".  (Britain's Mad Hatter Day happens on June 10th - someone needs to tell them they got it backward.  Those wacky Brits!  You gotta love 'em.)

Today is a day to behave as the Mad Hatter did - no matter if the paper was probably an order to make the hat in the style shown and most likely costing ten shillings and sixpence.  After all, time is money and money is time so why not dedicate October 6th to the Mad Hatter?

Go on now.  Really look at those things we assume are proper and normal and see how absurd some of them really are.  And explore why some things labeled silly actually make sense.
